Hickory golfers from across Australia and around the world are invited to gather in one of the game's distinctive golf destinations.
Melbourne's internationally recognised Sandbelt is shaped by free-draining sandy-loam terrain, firm turf, strategic bunkering and bold green complexes. Its remarkable concentration of historic courses has sustained championship golf for more than a century.

The Metropolitan Golf Club
With roots dating to 1891 and the Metropolitan identity established at Oakleigh in 1908, this premier championship venue has hosted eight Australian Opens, a World Match Play Championship and the World Cup of Golf. Its heritage, design and tournament pedigree make an imposing opening stage.

Woodlands Golf Club
Founded in 1913 as Mordialloc Golf Club, renamed Woodlands in 1925 and still occupying its original sandy ground, Woodlands favours strategy over strength through small, firm greens, tight surrounds and exacting angles—an especially fitting hickory test.

Commonwealth Golf Club
Established in 1920, Commonwealth pairs more than a century of tradition with strategic angles, varied green sites and firm-and-fast Sandbelt character. Its championship history includes the 1967 Australian Open and multiple Australian Amateur Championships.
